Job SummaryJust Play is seeking an Associate Paralegal to join our team. This individual will have a hand in several critical functions with processing various contracts, collaborating with Finance Management and Just Play’s General Counsel.
To ensure success as an Associate Paralegal, the ideal candidate will be a passionate team player that can effectively manage multiple tasks. This position will launch a solid career growth path for the right person in a fast paced, exciting entrepreneurial environment.
Principal Responsibilities
- Drafting form legal agreements, including non-disclosure agreements, vendor agreements, inventor agreements, distribution agreements, and marketing agreements for review by the legal team.
- Entering rights and financial information from signed license agreements into company systems in a timely and accurate manner.
- Develop and maintain contract and matter trackers to ensure timely and accurate information is shared with finance, business, and legal teams.
- Support legal and compliance teams in obtaining various third-party customs and shipping documentation, as well as prepare various custom and shipping forms for distributors.
- When necessary, provide internal teams, including business and finance teams, with summaries of agreements, including all material terms.
- Provide administrative support as it relates to various contracts including properly storing and filing agreements, clause look up, and managing signature processes.
- Develop and maintain relationships with all internal departments and external clients.
- Assist in legal research initiatives and delivering the requested information in a timely and clear manner.
- Assist in creating legal process and training materials to support process improvement and streamlining across the organization.
- Assist in setting up rate records in the database.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at one time.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as oral and written communication skills.
- Flexibility and willingness to navigate areas of unfamiliarity.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with legal agreements, in particular license agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and vendor forms.
- In-house legal or law firm experience preferred but not required.
- Fluency in English (both written and verbal).
