Job Summary:

This position is located in the Kamm's Corner area of western Cleveland. The client is a woman in her 70s who has developmental disabilities. She lives on her own and prefers to have staff that work 12 hour shifts.

Shifts available include 7:00am to 7:00pm and 7:00pm to 7:00am.

Pay starts at $14.50 with a $1.00 increase after 90 days.

Every other weekend is required.

Eligible candidates must have HS Diploma/GED, Driver's License/State ID, Social Security Card and be able to pass a criminal background check.

We are seeking compassionate individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide essential care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their well-being and quality of life.

Duties:

- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and mobility support
- Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals under your care
- Implement care plans tailored to each individual's needs and preferences
- Monitor and document individual progress and any changes in behavior or health
- Engage individuals in recreational activities and community outings
- Administer medication following proper protocols

Requirements:

- Experience or training in direct support or related fields such as home care, childcare, or assisted living
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality practices
- Ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities and provide dementia care if needed
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to improve the lives of others
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications in caregiving are a plus
