Backed by BlackRock’s Diversified Infrastructure business, Jupiter Power has a strategic and established portfolio of 787.5/1375 of utility-scale energy storage projects operating or in construction in the U.S., with a leading pipeline of over 11,000 MW in active development.

Jupiter Power is looking to grow its Operational Accounting Team with the addition of a Project Accountant supporting the Development and Construction of our portfolio of Battery Energy Storage System (“BESS”) projects. This is a business-critical role that works directly with the company's Corporate Finance, Development, Engineering, Procurement & Construction (“EPC”), and Accounting Teams. The position requires experience managing the financial accounting aspects of BESS projects. Experience with construction accounting principles and workflows is required. The Project Accountant will report to the Assistant Controller.

Key Responsibilities

· Work directly with accounting, development, construction, and project management teams to monitor project cost and budget.

· Forecast accrual and cost according to project budget.

· Complete month-end close activities, including analysis of accounts and preparation of journal entries.

· Prepare project construction draw package for submission to lenders.

· Develop reports on financial status of projects and present updates and forecasts to accounting and project groups.

· Work with 3rd party vendors to ensure accurate invoicing and payment procedures.

· Review construction contractor invoices for accuracy and compliance with executed agreements.

· Proactively analyze and resolve invoicing issues with contractors.

· Assist in the development and implementation of financial controls around invoice processing and payment procedures to mitigate risk.

· Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and implement updates as needed.

· Assist in the preparation of Board Materials and Reports, as needed.

Jupiter seeks individuals eager to develop their core professional knowledge, learn new areas of the business and take on additional responsibilities within Jupiter’s dynamic team. Secondary responsibilities will be tailored to individual candidate backgrounds as well as company priorities.

Requirements

· Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline

· 3-6 years of experience in cost accounting, project accounting, or related experience

· Project Based Accounting - EPC, Construction, Service Contracts, Leases

· Construction billings such as AIA forms, lien waivers and retention

· Account reconciliations, accruals, deposits, contracts, capitalization, and leases

Skills and Experience

· Previous experience in renewable energy, utilities, EPC, or engineering industries preferred.

· CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) preferred.

· Ability to perform cost forecasting (Accrual and Cash), estimation, and completion analysis.

· Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.

· Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Experience with ERP systems required, Sage Intact preferred.

Benefits

Compensation and benefits offered will be commensurate with the experience and qualifications of the candidate. It is preferred location for this role is in Austin, Texas. This position will be eligible for a hybrid schedule for remote and in office requirements.
