CLEANING PERSON

Job Summary: Perform regular and recurring cleaning of the Juniata Valley YMCA using authorized equipment and cleaning materials. Maintain the cleanliness of the building and grounds in all respects.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to reach above and below the waist
• Ability to work on all sizes of ladders
• Use fingers to pick, feel and grasp objects
• Use both hands for repetitive motion
• Some bending and twisting of the body required
• Ability to lift and/or carry supplies and/or papers weighing no more than 50 lbs.
• Ability to walk/move throughout the work environment
• Ability to perform minor maintenance repairs within building as requested by supervisor.

Work Environment:

· Subject to inside/outside environmental conditions

Responsibilities:

- Perform general cleaning duties to maintain cleanliness and appearance of assigned areas
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors
- Dust and wipe down surfaces
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners
- Clean and sanitize restrooms
- Restock supplies in restrooms and common areas
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors
- Follow established cleaning procedures and guidelines
- Adhere to safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Report any maintenance or repair needs to supervisor

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in commercial or industrial cleaning preferred
- Knowledge of custodial practices and procedures
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, and carpet cleaners
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Good physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Strong communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Morning shift
• Overnight shift
• Weekends as needed
