Experience Requirements

At least 16 years of age
At least 1 year of lifeguard experience

Responsibilities

Assist Director of Aquatics in scheduling.
Assist Director of Aquatics in schedules, coordinating, and leading in-service training.
Ensure that lifeguards are current on their training and certifications.
Ensure that lifeguards perform in accordance with JAM Center safety regulations & policies.
Conduct semi-annually pool equipment checks and inform management of pool maintenance as needed.
Check inventory and report to Director of Aquatics when supplies or equipment need to be ordered.
Conduct regular audits of department specific documentation and files.
Recognize emergencies and respond quickly and effectively.
Enforce all aquatic facility policies, rules, and regulations.
Inspect the facility on a daily basis and report any unsafe conditions or equipment to the supervisor.
Complete records and reports.
Participate in regular in-service training sessions.
Maintain fitness level (swimming skills, strength, and endurance).
Complete additional duties as assigned by the Director of Aquatics.
Additional Lifeguard Responsibilities:
Participate in all required training, initiatives, and meetings.
Maintain cleanliness of the facility.
Report any maintenance concerns to the Director of Aquatics.
Keep all personal qualifications up to date.
Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Ability to lift a person off the bottom of the pool and out of the water (average weight 150 lbs).
Perform all skills required for Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR certifications and in-service training as directed by supervisor.
Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time in an indoor environmentally controlled air temperatures and conditions.
Comfortable in water.
While performing duties of this job, employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hand to finger, handle, or feel; reach with arms and hands. Employee must be able to talk, hear, taste, smell and see (both near and far). Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch.
Preferred Qualifications:
LGI Certification
Swim Instructor Experience
JAM is searching for an individual who can work during the day, mainly 10 am - 1 pm.
