JT Wimsatt serves both public and private sector clients with a range of commercial, industrial, residential, government and specialty construction projects.
We are currently seeking a Safety professional to be based out of our San Diego International Airport jobsite. Candidates will be subject to a pre-employment drug screen/physical
This position will serve a single jobsite in a field capacity.
Position Description
Responsibilities
• Present safety update training and orientations for new hires and transfer personnel
• Conduct accident/injury investigations and document appropriately
• Complete company daily safety documentation as directed in an office and field setting
• Maintain site safety records
• Ensure employee compliance with CAL OSHA Standards.
• Be an active presence in the field at the jobsite
• Provide guidance and mentorship to all workers on health and safety topics
Position Requirements
Required Skills, and Experience:

• 10 years of construction experience
• Must have OSHA 500 Certification

• Experience in Concrete Construction desirable.
• Familiarity with tasks and equipment for concrete work, but any construction experience will be considered. (Excavation, forming, decking, concrete placement and respiratory/silica)
• 5 years of safety related experience.
• Understanding of CAL OSHA guidelines and other federal state and local safety regulations
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus but not required
• Strong computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PP)
• Ability to work well as a team and interact with different groups of people.
• Ability to present in meetings at various levels of the organization
• Experienced in building partnerships with all areas of the team (PMs, GCs, Superintendants, etc.)

Education/Certifications:

• Current OSHA 500 certification required for this assignment)
• OSHA 30 hours construction within the past 3 years required
