Typical Duties

1. Performs basic patient care with consideration for age and developmental stage.
2. Assists with patient care in a way that minimizes the risk of transfer of infection, accidental contamination and protects the patient from harm.
3. Obtains and records vital signs, I/O, weights, venipuncture, bedside testing, and documents in the patient record as directed by licensed staff member.
4. Delivers and obtains items from other areas of the hospital as required.
5. Prepares and assists with admissions, discharges, procedures, ambulating and transfers.
6. Assists in monitoring adequate availability and stocking of supplies and equipment according to the established PAR level.
7. Monitors patients with restraints or on suicide precautions and documents as directed.
8. Maintains a safe, clean, work environment.
9. Performs other related job duties as assigned.
