As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the within the Consumer and Community Banking, Connected Commerce Team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

• Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
• Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
• Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
• Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
• Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
• Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
• Designs, develops, and deploys scalable, highly available and secure AWS cloud-based solutions
• Builds and maintains infrastructure as code using AWS Cloud Formation
• Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• A minimum of 5 years of recent hands-on professional experience (actively coding) as a back-end engineer
• Qualifications in computer science or STEM related field (science, technology, engineering or mathematics) or equivalent
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Proficient in Java developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
• Must have Knowledge of AWS - S3, EC2, ECS, Step Functions, Lambda, Roles and Groups etc
• Prior experience building internet scale web service/API platforms from the ground up. Strong understanding of OOP & SOA principles, Enterprise design patterns and industry best practices. Basic understanding of domain driven design, Micro-services patterns and architecture. Experience with Spring Boot Web Services on cloud platforms.
• Strong understanding of Java concurrency, concurrency patterns, experience building thread safe code. Expert level experience designing and building REST web services using Java @ internet scale. Experience with building messaging, event-driven architectures. 
• Experience with high volume, mission critical applications. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with tuning high volume applications. Knowledge of SDLC. Experience with IBM MQ, Apache Kafka. 
• Solid hands on experience with SQL database such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
• Experience with other languages (Python, Go, Kotlin etc.)
