About this role:

JourneyTEAM is looking for a Modern Work and Security Support Engineer to optimize client Microsoft environments, resolving technical issues and enhancing workplace security to empower their success.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Microsoft's modern workplace and security solutions, including Office 365, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Defender, Entra, Intune, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, and others.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand and analyze problems, gather requirements, and provide effective solutions.
  • Conduct research, analyze logs, and utilize various tools and techniques to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Provide guidance and support to clients on best practices, security policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Participate in knowledge sharing and training sessions, both internally and with clients.
  • Document technical procedures, troubleshooting steps, and solutions for future reference.
  • Coordinate with Microsoft support and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Stay up to date with the latest Microsoft technologies, updates, and industry trends.

What would make you successful: (qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or 4 years of equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience in supporting and administering Microsoft technologies, including Office 365, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Defender, Entra, Intune, Exchange, and related solutions.
  • Proven experience in supporting a variety of end user devices like: laptops, desktops, mobile phones, etc.
  • Strong understanding of modern workplace and security concepts, such as security and compliance, identity and access management, device management, and data protection.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients and team members.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Things that will be helpful, but aren’t required:

  • Microsoft certifications, such as MS-900: Microsoft 365 Fundamentals, SC-900: Microsoft Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, bash) and automation tools.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and experience with Azure services.
  • Experience with project management and client management.
  • Familiarity with security best practices, compliance regulations, and industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO, GDPR).

What Success Looks Like After:

30 Days (Learning):

  • Understand the company's processes, procedures, and tools used for support and client management.
  • Gain familiarity with the various Microsoft modern workplace and security solutions offered by the company.
  • Receive training on troubleshooting methodologies, diagnostic tools, and documentation practices.
  • Familiarize with the company's knowledge base and access relevant technical resources.
  • Shadow experienced team members and observe how they handle client interactions and technical support cases.
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with clients and team members.
  • Obtain Microsoft 900 Level exam certifications if not previously obtained

60 Days (Contributing):

  • Independently handle and resolve basic to moderate-level technical support cases related to Microsoft modern workplace and security solutions.
  • Contribute to knowledge-sharing sessions and document solutions for future reference.
  • Actively participate in client meetings, gather requirements, and provide technical guidance.
  • Assist with the deployment and configuration of Microsoft solutions, such as Intune, Azure AD, and conditional access policies.
  • Collaborate with team members and escalate issues to senior engineers or Microsoft support when necessary.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using diagnostic tools, analyzing logs, and implementing appropriate solutions.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for process improvements based on client interactions and support experiences.

1 Year (Leading):

  • Independently handle and resolve complex technical support cases related to Microsoft modern workplace and security solutions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and provide mentorship to junior team members.
  • Lead client meetings, presentations, and technical discussions.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices and standardized processes.
  • Participate in project planning and management for client migrations, upgrades, and implementations.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Microsoft technologies, updates, and industry trends, and share knowledge with the team.
  • Collaborate with Microsoft support and escalate high-priority issues, representing the company and clients effectively.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement and suggest innovative solutions to enhance client support and service delivery.
  • Develop strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor and providing valuable technical guidance.

Salary: $50,000 to $60,000 annually (depending on experience)
