Closing Date: 03/07/2024 Knowledge of pedagogy to teach secondary literacy intervention classes, with a secondary listeracy interventionist or reading endorsement, as well as a current teaching license are preferred. We are looking for teachers who have worked with, or have a propensity to work well with, students with diverse backgrounds and interests.
As a new International Baccalaureate (IB) school, and a school that offers many AP and concurrent courses, a teacher with credentials and abilities to teach in these areas will also be preferred. West Jordan High School is also looking for teachers who are willing and able to lead programs outside of the classroom - including coaching athletics and supervising extracurricular clubs. UTAH STATE RETIREMENT Benefit eligible employees are automatically members of the Utah Retirement Systems (URS). This means that the District contributes into the URS plan on your behalf each month. After the URS vesting period of four years, you will have either the Hybrid option, which is a combination of a pension with a 401k plan, or the 401k option if you choose. Both plans are employer-paid. You can also choose to enhance your retirement with URS by contributing additional money from your paychecks into a 401k, 457, Traditional IRA, or Roth IRA.
