About the role

JOLT is looking for an experienced Project Design Engineer to join JOLT’s Australian Network Growth Team. Reporting to the General Manager for Development and Deployment, this person will have primary responsibility for power connections, construction scoping and technical site design for JOLT’s growing network of public electric vehicle charging infrastructure, from inception to completion.

Key responsibilities:

• Assess and understand the power connection requirements of each site from inception to operation to ensure timely charger installations
• Understand the risks, costs, and lead times of each installation from a power and buildability standpoint
• Act as the main technical lead during a site's Development phase with close liaison with Development Managers and Commercial Managers
• Prepare a “build ready” site for handover to the Project Manager during the Deployment phase including responsibility for power connections, construction scoping and technical site design, from inception to completion

• 5-7 years of professional experience in EPC contracts, Infrastructure or Energy projects
• Civil or Electrical engineering qualifications/background
• Understanding of AC and DC power, transformers, circuit protection, single-line electrical and mechanical diagrams, civil works and construction drawings
• Working knowledge of local building and engineering standards, environmental regulations, and electrical design standards
• Knowledge of local power and grid network will be highly regarded
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Demonstrated experience in customer-focused problem solving.
• Execution focused - proven ability to achieve or improve multiple project deadlines and milestones, autonomously, in parallel
• Must have the ability to discuss technical topics with a variety of audiences – contractors, engineers, and members of various divisions within JOLT
• Available for travel
• Must have valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
