Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Operating Room. As a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room, you will play a crucial role in providing safe and effective care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. Responsibilities:
- Perform pre-operative assessments, including reviewing patient medical history and conducting physical examinations
- Collaborate with the surgical team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients
- Assist with surgical procedures by providing sterile instruments and supplies to the surgeon
- Monitor patients during surgery, ensuring their safety and well-being
- Administer medications as prescribed by the surgeon or anesthesiologist
- Monitor vital signs and assess patient responses to anesthesia and surgical interventions
- Provide post-operative care, including wound care, pain management, and patient education
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care, including health coaching, discharge planning, and diagnostic evaluation
- Utilize electronic medical record systems (such as Epic) to document patient information accurately
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse license in NJ
- Minimum of 1 years of experience working in an Operating Room setting
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, equipment, and sterile techniques
- Ability to catheterize patients as needed
- Proficient in monitoring vital signs and recognizing changes in patient condition
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Experience in case management and behavioral health is a plus
- Familiarity with ophthalmology procedures is preferred
