Johnson’s Beach: General Manager
We are seeking a talented General Manager to join our team at Johnson’s Beach in Russian River!
The General Manager position is responsible for oversight of all aspects of the property with a focus on maximizing profitability and guest and team member satisfaction. Reporting to the owner, you will provide leadership to all departments to ensure a successful operation, deliver on financial results, delight guests, and enhance Johnson’s Beach’s culture. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record in managing operations within the hospitality industry.

A Russian River tradition for nearly a century, Johnson’s Beach is a favorite summer spot for Sonoma County locals and visitors alike. Sunning, swimming and floating at our Guerneville beach is as much a Sonoma County pastime as wine tasting and strolling through the redwoods.
Located ninety minutes north of the Bay Area in the charming and eclectic town of Guerneville, this classic summer getaway sits in the heart of the Russian River Valley and provides the quintessential summertime river experience.

Responsibilities
The General Manager will set the tone for the overall guest experience on site. The General Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations and profitability of Johnson’s Beach Resort (hotel ops, snack bar, and beachfront operations). They oversee staffing, training, supply and product ordering, property maintenance and guest interactions, to drive profitability and deliver incredible customer service. The General Manager reports to Ownership and is responsible for all departments including Camp Manager, Maintenance, Housekeeping, Snack Bar Supervisor, and Beach Ops employees. The GM oversees the implementation of company culture, brand & employee standards, policies & procedures as set by Ownership.

Job Qualifications:
Education/Experience
● High school diploma/GED required
● 4 years of management experience in hospitality or related field
● Food & Beverage experience preferred
● Special events experience preferred
● Passion for and commitment to hospitality
● General experience in front desk, housekeeping, food service, or other hotel departments
General Skills/Traits
● Ability to manage time effectively to ensure completion of tasks
● Excellent communication skills with the ability to listen effectively
● Ability to make the right executive decisions without need for escalation
● Ability to lead a team
● Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
● Knowledge of general hotel operating procedures
● Time management and organizational skills
Computer Skills
● Familiarity with G-Suite and its various applications (docs, sheets, calendar, etc.)
● Familiarity with excel preferred
● Experience with property management/booking systems preferred
● Experience with QuickBooks preferred
Physical Requirements
● While performing the required duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods of time. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds (4 kg) and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds (11kg).
