Description

Position Overview:

Under the direction of the President of SyncLync, the Product Manager is someone who provides strategic direction, develops product briefs, and develops networks of dealers and/or experts following company policies and procedures. Duties include market research, defining market opportunities, product development via the Johnson Health Tech (JHT) New Product Development (NPD) process, and marketing/sales support.

Responsibilities:

Market Research: 

· Develop a network of knowledgeable dealers and/or experts.

· Routinely visit international business units and attend trade shows.

· Product performance analysis every quarter.

· Prepare and distribute detailed competitive reviews after each tradeshow.

· Maintain current competitive analysis for assigned product categories.

Innovation: 

· Identify potential product opportunities two to three years in advance.

Product Development Support: 

· Work closely with product managers in different locations and international business units to develop a global product strategy.

· Provide direction for and assist designers in selecting the best industrial design.

· Write and manage owners' manuals and assembly guides.

· Develop comprehensive product briefs and new product proposals.

· Manage products through the development process from start to finish.

Marketing/Sales Support: 

· Develop product story for the marketing department and features/benefits.

· Train sales team and dealers on why their products are the best in class.

· Function as part of the selling approach to develop solutions for customers.

Supervisory: 

· Responsible for staffing, terminations, disciplinary actions, training, and developing subordinates.

· Responsible for completing adequate performance documentation on time.

Marginal Job Functions:

· Other projects as assigned.

· Will often be assigned special projects and assignments that require a higher skill set and experience in product development. This experience will need to include working with outside engineering and manufacturing teams with very little supervision yet still can provide timely deliverables and excellent quality.

Requirements

Education:

· Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field required or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Engineering undergraduate degree is preferred.

· Master’s degree in business administration preferred.

Experience:

· 5-7 years of product, sales, or service experience in the hearing aid industry required.

· 5 or more years of product management in another consumer industry preferred.

Other Requirements:

· Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint required.

· Microsoft Project experience preferred.

· Domestic, local, and international travel required.
