The Store Manager manages all aspects of the Gift Shop designed to raise funds that ultimately support JH HC Medical Center initiatives. Funds are raised through the sale of retail goods. The manager is responsible for profitable and cost-effective store operations to maximize financial contribution. Will be responsible for identification of quality merchandise and intake of merchandise, including ordering and/or accepting merchandise from wholesalers, pricing, and displaying. The Store Manager also schedules and supervises all hospital employees and non-salaried volunteer staff assigned to the store. Interviews all potential store employees and volunteers to assess appropriateness for functioning in a retail environment, including their probable success in interacting with customers, and in mastering computer and paper work associated with intake and sale of merchandise.

Minimum Education & Experience:

1. High school diploma and four (4) years of retail management experience. Experience in buying, merchandising, customer service, and teambuilding.

2. Experience in interpreting sales and profit performance.

3. Experience in interviewing, and selection of potential employees, staff, or volunteers is required.

4. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
