The Therapeutic Apheresis Center provides a variety of apheresis procedures to both inpatients and outpatients, adult and pediatric patients. Procedures consists of plasma and red blood cell exchanges, peripheral blood stem cell collections, whole blood collections, and lipid apheresis in addition to an array of cutting-edge research and study procedures for various diseases and departments across the organization. Procedures are performed at the bedside as well as in our ambulatory clinic. Procedures are performed peripherally (ultrasound guided if need be) as well as through various VADs like central lines and implanted vortex ports. An On-Call Registered Nurse (RN) is always available for emergency procedures.
