Center For Energy and Environment is Hiring a Senior Manager - Market Deployment Near Minneapolis, MN

Description

The Senior Manager of Market Deployment leads the strategy and execution of market deployment efforts within the Efficient Technology Accelerator (ETA) program for commercial and industrial technologies, which is about half of the total ETA portfolio. The position directly supervises a team of dedicated program staff and manages additional cross-functional staff and subcontractors. The ideal candidate has experience running commercial energy efficiency programs, is a skilled manager and collaborator, is dedicated to achieving impact through their work, and brings a strategic mindset to their work. The position is one of the key leadership positions that will be responsible for developing and growing the ETA a $12 million/year program over the next four years. Minnesota-based candidates are preferred, but we will consider other locations.

CEE Background:

CEE is a data-driven, consumer-focused, and community-based clean energy nonprofit with locations in the North Loop of Minneapolis and St. Paul's Midway. For nearly 40 years, CEE has collaborated with utilities, governments, nonprofits, and businesses to deliver actionable research and innovative programs that reduce energy waste and harmful emissions. We've established a national reputation for innovation and excellence in program implementation, our emerging technology and field research team, our involvement and expertise with local and state policy work, and our work with communities. We collaborate regularly with partners and employ curious people who share a passion for the organization's mission. Our workplace invites open door communications, respect for diverse backgrounds and points of view, and an emphasis on work-life balance. Our staff includes creative and pragmatic environmentalists, program developers and implementers, engineers and technical experts and research professionals. Our organizational culture is professional but easy-going, with a deep emphasis on collaboration, innovation, and technical expertise. We're proud to operate in Minnesota, a national leader in clean energy and energy efficiency, and increasingly employ staff across the nation.

Market Transformation Team:

CEE launched a statewide market transformation program called the Efficient Technology Accelerator (ETA) in 2023, with committed and growing funding from the state of Minnesota and its utilities. The purpose of this program is to accelerate the development and adoption of emerging energy efficiency and decarbonization technologies. With a current size of about 22 staff, we are building and expanding a dream team of talent to grow the ETA into a major new source of energy and carbon reduction in the state. See www.etamn.org for more information.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing strategy and execution for a portfolio of 2-4 technology initiatives, including developing annual workplans and meeting annual goals and key performance indicators
  • Directly supervise a growing market deployment team; cross-functionally manage other CEE program staff including analysts, marketing professionals and engineers; and oversee subcontractors to achieve programmatic goals
  • Develop and oversee annual budget for market deployment efforts
  • Develop and update Market Transformation Plans for existing and new technology initiatives, which identify and document program logic and market support strategies for each technology initiative in the portfolio
  • Oversee development of key market relationships, including with utilities, manufacturers, distributors and contractors
  • Represent the ETA program in public settings including in front of utilities, supply chain actors, and at conferences
  • Contribute as member of senior manager team to the overall success of the Efficient Technology Accelerator
  • Collaborate with other regional and national organizations to advance program goals
  • Employ adaptive management approach with team to continually gather market intelligence and adjust plans to best meet programmatic goals
