SALARY RANGE: $110,000.00-$145,000.00/ANNUALLY

The Hospice Director position is open in our Apple Valley location. This is a Full-time, exempt position.
Requirements of the Hospice Director:
Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of California.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
A registered nurse with a baccalaureate or higher degree in nursing or another health-related field with three (3) years of experience or a registered nurse with four (4) years of experience within the last five years in a hospice or home health agency, primary care clinic or health facility, at least one year of which was in a supervisory or administrative capacity.
Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years successful management experience in hospice care.
Hospice Director Duties Include:
Demonstrate support and fulfillment of the agency’s mission, vision, values.
Implements and monitors agency initiatives to achieve strategic goals.
Communicates, collaborates and coordinates in a positive and professional manner with all peers, leaders and staff. Cooperates with all departments by sharing information as requested or needed in a timely manner.
Supports a healthy work environment by promoting effective communication, collaboration, cooperation, and conflict resolution with all departments and all levels of staff.
Maintains compliance with Medicare regulations and accreditation standards, as well as other state and federal regulations and payer requirements. Provides implementation guidance to managers/supervisors, and holds them accountable for implementing strategies to meet compliance with regulatory requirements and standards
Maintains current knowledge of hospice regulations, and develops and implements educational programs to ensure that staff are informed and trained. Informs executive management of how regulatory changes will impact the Agency’s operations and develops systems and processes to comply with ongoing regulatory changes.
Coordinates with Medical Director and hospice physicians to meet patient needs and regulatory compliance.
Works collaboratively with Business Development to facilitate growth of the hospice program while adhering to hospice admission eligibility criteria. Participates in building effective relationships with referral sources and community outreach.
Participates in the agency-wide QAPI program and performance improvement projects.
Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
Actively participates in the development of the annual budget. Works with direct reports to determine growth projections and budgetary needs. Assimilates and provides that data to CFO and President/CEO to finalize budget. Manages to the finalized budget.
Reviews, authorizes and processes all hospice related expenses (pharmacy, DME, transportation, etc.).
Understands the chain of command and utilizes proper channels of communication.
Communicates and collaborates effectively with all levels of co-workers, peers, supervisors and staff. Cooperates and easily provides information that is requested or needed by other departments in a timely manner.
