The Senior Accountant provides subject matter expertise in key areas of accounting and internal control, with a focus on system implementation, financial reporting and capital projects. Overall, this position must operate as an assistant to the Controller and work collaboratively with the accounting team and in support of the operating groups.

Systems Development and Internal Control:

Evaluate financial systems to measure and incorporate efficient and effective

Review and update financial process policies and procedures

Leverage use of technology to improve internal controls within our current systems

Accounting and Reporting:

Maintain, analyze, and reconcile accounts and related entries

Participate in departmental month end close procedures

Assist with preparing Month End, Quarter End, and Year End financial reports

Help prepare budget vs actual analysis for department leads

Fixed Asset Accounting:

Work with AP and authorized purchasers to record and reconcile capital costs

Assist with capital budget development and financial modeling.

Assist with initial project set-up within company systems

Participate in requirements discussions with technical teams to develop fixed asset management system.

Other Job Duties:

Assist preparing annual audit, tax return, EMMA bond filings, CARF reports

Work with internal staff to help develop relevant analytical reports

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• 4 or more years of working in progressive accounting roles.
• Knowledge of public accounting and internal control compliance experience is desirable..
• Demonstrated proficiency in the use of the MS365 (Excel, Word, and Outlook) required
• Comfortable working on multiple projects concurrently and to manage work interruptions and organize and complete assignments timely and accurately.
• Working in a collaborative environment and relate professionally with staff, vendors, residents, and guests
