Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring they comply with all regulatory requirements and reflect the company's financial status accurately.
2. Handle general ledger functions and prepare month-end close procedures.
3. Analyze and review all inbound and outbound freight to ensure sales and costs are being captured appropriately.
4. Manage fixed asset accounting, ensuring all assets are recorded accurately and depreciation is calculated correctly.
5. Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
6. Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
7. Assist with the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing insight and advice to senior management.
8. Perform variance analysis and prepare detailed reports for management.
9. Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process.
10. Provide input into department’s goal setting process.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation preferred.
3. Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
4. Proficient in general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
5. Solid understanding of financial accounting and financial statements.
6. Experience with fixed asset accounting.
7. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze and review freight costs.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
9. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
10. Proficient with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
