We are seeking a seasoned and dedicated Permanent Quality Engineer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality assurance, process improvements, and lean manufacturing principles. This role will focus on ensuring that our manufacturing processes meet both internal and external requirements, including legal compliance and customer expectations. The Permanent Quality Engineer is a key player in our commitment to continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, and overall operational excellence. This person will work between Bellingham MA and Providence RI
Responsibilities
As a Permanent Quality Engineer, your primary responsibilities include:
1. Develop, implement and maintain quality assurance protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with quality standards.
2. Conduct audits, identify non-conformance issues and implement corrective actions.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure products meet quality standards and customer requirements.
4. Lead root cause analysis of quality issues and develop corrective actions.
5. Develop quality metrics and present quality performance to management.
6. Participate in the design and development of products to ensure quality considerations are addressed.
7. Train team members on quality assurance concepts and tools.
8. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean and Six Sigma projects.
9. Review suppliers' quality systems and develop supplier quality management strategies.
Qualifications
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, candidates must possess:
1. A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality engineering role within the manufacturing industry.
3. Certification as a Quality Engineer (CQE) or Quality Auditor (CQA) is highly desirable.
4. Strong knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and standards.
5. Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
6. Proficiency in statistical analysis and quality control tools such as SPC, FMEA, and Root Cause Analysis.
7. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
8. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
9. Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
10. Proficient in MS Office Suite and quality assurance software.
