We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in the construction industry. This is a permanent position where you will play a crucial role in our financial department. You will be responsible for overseeing our company's financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations. You will also be tasked with performing regular, detailed audits to ensure accuracy in financial documents and procedures, and continuously inspecting the accounting systems to keep up with the industry and company changes.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage all accounting transactions, including AP, AR, general ledger postings, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
2. Prepare budget forecasts and implement budget controls.
3. Conduct regular ledger reconciliation and assist in monthly and yearly closings.
4. Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce accurate, timely financial reports and statements.
5. Maintain fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, and depreciation.
6. Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.
7. Liaise with our Financial Manager and Accounting Manager to improve financial procedures.
8. Implement and adhere to the company's financial policies and procedures.
9. Use NetSuite to process financial transactions, generate reports, and manage financial data.
10. Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
11. Detect and address potential discrepancies.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the construction industry.
3. In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
4. Hands-on experience with accounting software like NetSuite.
5. Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
6. Experience with general ledger functions, month-end/year-end close processes, and fixed asset accounting.
7. Excellent numerical skills with an attention to detail.
8. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
9. Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
10. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
