About the Role

The Company is seeking an experienced General Counsel to join their fast-growing team. The successful candidate will serve as the in-house legal advisor, providing counsel on strategic and operational decisions, and will be a key business partner to the commercial, product, and clinical teams. A strong background in healthcare law, particularly in regulatory law, negotiating commercial contracts, and advising on product development, is essential. The role involves partnering with various business areas to advise on legal implications, drafting and negotiating complex agreements, managing corporate legal activities, and acting as a key advisor on major business transactions.Applicants must have a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, an active license to practice law in Washington state, and a minimum of 8 years of relevant corporate legal experience, with a focus on medical devices or life sciences. A deep understanding of the healthcare regulatory environment, including FDA regulations, is required. Previous experience in a venture capital-backed startup, including fundraising, is highly desirable. The role demands strong leadership, negotiation, drafting, and legal analytical skills, as well as the ability to lead a legal function and work collaboratively with other departments. Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, managing legal disputes, and effectively overseeing external counsel are also key responsibilities.
