Job Summary: Seeking a Groundskeeper to provide support to maintain the landscape at various locations and for San Ysidro Land Port of Entry. Qualified applicants must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and be able to work well with disabled employees. Groundskeeper should have a minimum one-year experience lawn mower, trimming hedges, weed care, garden care and planting flowers, etc. Hands on work experience of lawn and ground equipment is required. Must be able to communicate, read, write and speak English fluently, bi- lingual in Spanish is a plus. Essential Functions:
- Work schedule is Monday - Friday 5:00 am- 1:30 pm . Schedule may vary must be able to work weekends, as needed.
- Mows grass, edges walkway, pulls weeds (as necessary), waters lawn, trims shrubs, tends flower beds and regularly inspects assigned work areas to ensure proper standards are maintained.
- Operates lawn and ground equipment including self propelled lawn mowers, weed eaters, vacuums, blowers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws and other power equipment.
- Plants and maintains exterior and interior landscaping in accordance with the landscaping plan.
- Will assist in maintaining irrigation systems to properly water all landscape
- Will perform periodic maintenance on equipment to ensure it is functioning properly.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
