At Mainland City Centre, our Plumbing Technicians support our facilities and team in keeping the property in great shape. They are responsible for keeping our facility operating and repairing any problems when discovered. A Plumbing Technician will be required to perform a wide range of repair tasks including, but not limited to finding the source of leaks and blockages, fixing, or replacing broken parts and testing the plumbing system. There may be moments in which our plumbing technicians will need to support our general maintenance team.

General Responsibilities Include:

• Performing routine maintenance of plumbing systems around the building 
• Inspecting previously installed plumbing systems 
• Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures
• Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems
• Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
• Keeping documentation of work orders 

General Requirements Include:

• A valid plumber’s license preferred 
• Two or more years of trade experience as a plumber or plumber’s apprentice
• General knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, electrical, sheet rock repair and basic construction tasks 
• Ability to operate powered equipment as needed for plumbing repairs 
• Excellent time management and organization skills 
• A high level of self-awareness, receptivity to change and integrity 
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions as required
• Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lb. 
• Ability to stoop and bend 
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time including maneuvering up and down ladders and stairs
