Job Description

As a Freight Broker at JF Enterprises, you will play a pivotal role in the success and growth of our business. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate the transportation of goods for our clients by securing reliable carriers and negotiating favorable terms. You'll be the crucial link between our customers and carriers, ensuring that shipments are delivered on time and in optimal condition.

Responsibilities

• Identify and secure new customers for transportation services.
• Negotiate terms and arrange shipments, ensuring on-time and undamaged delivery.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
• Collaborate with carriers to optimize capacity and streamline logistics solutions.
• Stay abreast of market trends, regulations, and industry developments.
• Provide exemplary customer service, promptly addressing any issues that arise.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments and transactions.
• Dispatch loads using transportation management software (TMS), ensuring adherence to schedules and regulations.
• Coordinate driver schedules, load assignments, and route planning to minimize empty miles.
• Enforce company policies and ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
• Verify shipping documentation accuracy and reconcile discrepancies.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years experience in transportation, with preference given to candidates with produce shipments or McLeod experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with drivers, customers, and management.
• Attention to detail, organization, and planning.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Team-oriented mindset.
• Computer and technology proficiency.
