Jenzabar is Hiring a Remote Revenue Accountant II

Position Summary

The Revenue Accountant II will report directly to the Revenue Manager and will support all aspects of the revenue cycle as well as some aspects of pricing and product codes. This is a newly created position to assist the Revenue Manager with the development (and performance) of new revenue recognition processes and controls as required by the combination of the adoption of ASC 606 and the change in accounting systems. This role will require regular interaction with other departments, such as the sales team and the managed and professional services teams. The Revenue Accountant II will also be involved in the review and reconciliation of the data conversion from our legacy system to NetSuite, as well as working on ad hoc requests as required for the other system implementations. The primary focuses for this role will be with revenue recognition and pricing.

Essential Tasks

Revenue Recognition
  • Compile company bookings report for Finance and Sales
  • Assist with Sales Order and Contract approvals
  • Assist with the development or improvement of new or existing revenue recognition processes and controls, such as applying the percent complete for fixed fee services or fulfillment / provisioning, through cross-functional interactions with sales teams and managed and professional service teams
  • Assist with updating and maintaining the revenue recognition policy memo, such as the stand- alone selling price analysis.
  • Participate in the monthly close including preparation of account reconciliations related to revenue
  • Develop monthly revenue reporting from NetSuite to facilitate review and analysis of revenue recognition, sales activity, and pricing
  • Review customer contracts for special terms or clauses through cross-functional interactions with sales teams and managed & professional services teams
  • Work with the Revenue Manager on technical accounting issues
  • Assist with annual audit requests
  • Prepare ad hoc requests for data compilation

Pricing

  • Assist with Pricing Approvals
  • Track and maintain the pricing requests and questions from Sales; aggregate the data necessary to complete the requests; coordinate directly with Revenue Manager · Update and maintain the Pricing Workbook · Assist with the implementation of the FY2021 pricing strategies and policies (as required) through cross-functional interactions with sales teams and managed & professional services teams · Assist with any requests for other systems implementations (Salesforce, Support Bench) that relate to NetSuite item codes and pricing. · Maintain the NetSuite Item Codes and assist in completing and maintaining the Fair Value Prices as it relates to SSP analysis · Work with Sales in development of product pricing proposals

Preferred Skills and Experience 

  • 3 years’ related accounting experience, with 2 years’ experience in revenue accounting preferred (software industry a plus)
  • BA / BS in Accounting or Finance degree
  • Excellent analytical skills with a high attention to detail
  • Jenzabar product knowledge preferred
  • Strong commitment to working with a team
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at once
  • Passion for understanding processes and continuous process for improvement
  • Independent/flexible problem-solver with ability to positively cope with change
  • Public accounting experience preferred but not required
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills
  • NetSuite experience preferred but not required

The pay range for this position is $58k to $82k/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, geographic location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus in addition to a full range of benefits. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed.
