ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE SPECIALIST

Location: Avon, Ohio

Hybrid: 2 days remote, may change at any time

Workdays: Monday - Friday

Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm

Job Summary

We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist with strong attention to detail to join our team. The ideal candidate is responsible for applying cash and credit card payments to customer accounts, working with Credit and Collections to resolve payment issues and assisting the sales team as needed. The position is part of the accounting team and will work closely with the company controller and senior accountant.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Process customer payments, including cash, checks, credit card transactions, and electronic payments, and apply them to the appropriate accounts.
• Manually process credit card payments as necessary.
• Complete the daily bank reconciliations and investigate reconciling items.
• Print and issue customer invoices.
• Investigate customer payment issues including short payments, NSF’s and credit card charge backs.
• Assist as needed in the review and approval of credit applications and assist with new customer set-up.
• Prepares, reconciles, and collects for various manufacturer rebate accounts.
• Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to resolve billing issues and disputes.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records and documentation related to accounts receivable transactions.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures, including account reconciliations and reporting.
• Provide support to the accounting department as needed, including participating in audits and special projects.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with basic mathematical calculations and financial analysis.
• Experience with accounts receivable collections and customer service preferred.
• Willingness to adapt to new technologies and software systems as needed. Experience with Oracle Cloud a plus.
• Exceptional interpersonal abilities and customer service expertise.
• Outstanding organizational abilities coupled with meticulous attention to detail.
• A proven track record of meeting deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Capability to perform effectively in a fast-paced and occasionally stressful setting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 365, particularly Excel.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Accounts Receivable Specialist or similar role, with proficiency in using Oracle financial software preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.

Physical Requirements: (In compliance with ADA)

• Ability to sit at a computer terminal for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift 5lbs.
• This position is essential, and the employee must be physically in attendance at their designated workstation at our headquarters or home office location during normal business hours designated for this position.
