Description
JOB SUMMARY:
The Business Development Leader is responsible for driving revenue growth in their assigned region. This person is responsible for executing strategic plans, developing/maintaining strategic relationships, and creating/implementing initiatives that result in new sales opportunities at the local branch level. This position works under the direction of the General Manager and manages the sales relationship between Jenkins Project Managers and local points of contacts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT LEADER:
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
  • Performs all phases of sales activities to uncover, develop, and close opportunities including sales calls, follow up calls, conducting client needs analysis, conducting online and in-person meetings and presentations, and servicing existing accounts.
  • Sales targets include but are not limited to, Insurance Companies, Insurance Agents/Brokers, Property Claims Adjusters, Residential and Commercial Property Managers, Licensed Community Association Managers (LCAM), and individual commercial and residential property owners.
  • Document all sales activities in CRM and ensure its integrity across the branch to include complete job sourcing information i.e., Source name, contact information, company, etc.
  • Participate in all scheduled meetings.
  • Develop new sales strategies in consultation with Branch Manager.
  • Provide weekly written reports on sales activities and results to include new jobs, new contacts, new targets, existing pipeline, new opportunities, ongoing initiatives, and scheduled activities.
  • Communicate and follow-up with new partnerships and/or sales opportunities bi-weekly.
  • Promote, nurture, and protect the Jenkins Brand.
  • Conduct meetings and/or educational seminars to new and/or existing clients and partners on Jenkins's history, capabilities, and accomplishments.
  • Host and plan a minimum of one lunch and learn per quarter.
  • Participate in all branch meetings and lead business development communications portion of meetings. Discuss opportunities, timelines, and client sensitivities.
Marketing
Partner with the Corporate Sales and Marketing Department to ensure:
  • Client facing messaging is consistent with Corporate messaging
  • All corporate supplied, branch specific, sales and marketing materials are current and available
  • Coordinate weekly branch specific social media posts
  • Create localized Sales and Marketing materials as needed
  • Create and manage static posts as well as video "commercials"
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Four-year degree in related field of study (Marketing or Business); or equivalent work experience is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Up to 25-40% regional and domestic travel may be required on occasion. This will include any trade shows, adjuster meetings, or other scenarios or opportunities deemed necessary and beneficial by your Branch Manager and/or Corporate Management.
LANGUAGE SKILLS :
The Business Development Leader must possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Demonstrate the ability to write routine reports, correspondence, and the ability to speak effectively to customers and/or employees of organization.
TECHNICAL SKILLS :
To perform this job successfully, the Business Development Leader should have knowledge of industry related software be able to "touch type" and be familiar with software like Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.); able to communicate via cell phone and appropriate apps.
REASONING ABILITY:
The Business Development Leader should possess the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. They should also have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form in the English language.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the Business Development Leader is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and smell.
