Jefferson - Center City, Philadelphia, PA is Hiring a Program Director/Faculty Position, Adult Gerontology Primary Care Graduate Program, Jefferson College of Nursing, Thomas Jefferson University Near Philadelphia, PA

The Program Director reports directly to the Chair of the Department with secondary consultation from the Associate Deans and the other Department Chair. The Program Director is responsible for delivering a high quality academic programming for students. Under the directorship of the Program Director, it is expected that the Program will be in responsible for program compliance with all professional and accreditation standards, guidelines, and benchmarks consistent with the mission, vision, and values of the Jefferson College of Nursing. The Program Director is accountable for successful teaching and learning practices within the Program.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist with the review and selection of program candidates.
  • Monitor formative and summative program evaluation metrics.
  • Review and recommends revision of program curriculum.
  • Meet/exceed expected Program outcomes and benchmarks.
  • Develop action plans if standards, expectations, and benchmarks are not met.
  • Assist the Chair with academic planning and faculty deployment.
  • Respond to student concerns to resolve conflicts, appeals, and disputes/grievances.
  • Assist with preparation of self-study report for accrediting agencies and participation in site evaluations.
  • Assist with faculty recruitment, development, evaluation, and mentoring.
  • Manage preceptor/clinical site affiliations, evaluation, and visits.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with federal, state and local constituencies, accrediting bodies, nursing boards, clinical agencies, specialty organizations, students, preceptors, faculty and alumni.
  • Develop initiatives to integrate the Jefferson College of Nursing and its communities of interest.
  • Participate in recruitment/information initiatives as required.
Doctoral degree preferred, Master’s degree accepted if candidate is already enrolled in a Doctoral program
Licensure to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania required
AGPCNP Certification Required
Previous teaching experience preferred
Knowledge and skills related to innovative teaching methodologies, curriculum development, evaluation, and supporting students in their journey to become advanced practice nurses or willingness to plan for acquisition of these skills.
