Jefferson - Center City, Philadelphia, PA is Hiring a Division Director and Enterprise Lead, Palliative Care - Physician - Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health Near Philadelphia, PA

The successful candidate will lead the Division of Palliative Care within the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University; and will coordinate across Jefferson Health’s regions to coordinate, support, and optimize palliative care services including hospital consultation; skilled nursing facility consultations; and non-oncologic ambulatory, telehealth, home-based, and value-based palliative care. The candidate will report to the Chair of Family and Community Medicine and Enterprise Chief of Primary Care for both academic and health system roles.

The Division Director of Palliative Care will oversee the faculty and staff of the division, with responsibility for clinical services in inpatient, ambulatory/telehealth, and skilled nursing clinical services; for new program development and expansion in these and additional delivery models; a fellowship program; and teaching of medical student and resident learners. The successful candidate will be responsible for building an extramural funding program including research and programmatic grants.

  • Board Certified in Palliative Care
  • At least 5 years’ and preferably 10 years’ experience in leadership of clinical, educational, and/or research programs
  • Demonstrated strong management and mentorship skills, including building and leading interprofessional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment
  • Strong understanding of palliative care clinical models including considerations of design, business modeling, productivity, quality, experience, and equity; experience with new program development or expansion preferred
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
