PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Under general supervision, organize and carry-out the numerous tasks involved with processing applications for Staff membership and/or clinical privileges.

EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

College degree in business, healthcare administration, human resource management or other related field preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION:

Certification as CMSC or CPCS preferred.

  • If not certified, willingness to become certified as a credentialing specialist after appropriate education and experience in accordance with eligibility routes established by the NAMSS Certification Council.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of two (2) years of hospital or managed care administrative or secretarial experience in one of the following fields: physician credentialing, personnel administration, medical records, medical education, medical administration or medical secretarial.
