JE JOHNSON is Hiring a Journeyman Pipefitter (FT) Near Midland, MI
- Plans prepare, installs, and maintains piping and plumbing systems composed of various materials; systems may include pipes, pressure and vacuum gauges, pipeline filters, steam traps, and strainer valves.
- Consults blueprints, work orders, schematics, or instructions; creates working procedures based on specifications.
- Gathers equipment and materials for the job.
- Welds, cuts, bends, threads, solders, and fits pipes.
- Attaches pipes and piping systems to walls using brackets, bracket systems, or clamps; cuts or bores holes prior to the project.
- Installs various types of insulation and pipe covering; safely removes and properly discards of old coverings according to hazardous waste procedures and in accordance with EPA and OSHA requirements.
- Inspects pipes, testing for pressure and leaks; reports and/or resolves problems.
- Coordinates with the manager to schedule machinery maintenance, repairs, and installation to minimize disruption to operations.
- The ability to read schematics and blueprints is a plus.
- Be on time every day.
- Have good communication skills both oral and written.
- Willingness to assist other welders/trades in support of company operations.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school and trade school training are acceptable.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Safety orientated and follow all safety rules.
- Be able to work within industrial chemical environments.
- Trained or trainable to operate aerial lifts, scissor lifts, condors, and Sky Tracks.
- Able to pass a background check and drug screen (hair and urine).
- Be an insurable driver and have a valid driver's license.
