JE JOHNSON is Hiring a Journeyman Pipefitter (FT) Near Midland, MI

We are looking for an experienced Journeyman Pipefitter to join our team! The Journeyman Pipefitter will configure, install, fit, and maintain various piping systems, and ensure smooth operation of those systems.
Journeyman Pipefitter Qualifications:
  • Plans prepare, installs, and maintains piping and plumbing systems composed of various materials; systems may include pipes, pressure and vacuum gauges, pipeline filters, steam traps, and strainer valves.
  • Consults blueprints, work orders, schematics, or instructions; creates working procedures based on specifications.
  • Gathers equipment and materials for the job.
  • Welds, cuts, bends, threads, solders, and fits pipes.
  • Attaches pipes and piping systems to walls using brackets, bracket systems, or clamps; cuts or bores holes prior to the project.
  • Installs various types of insulation and pipe covering; safely removes and properly discards of old coverings according to hazardous waste procedures and in accordance with EPA and OSHA requirements.
  • Inspects pipes, testing for pressure and leaks; reports and/or resolves problems.
  • Coordinates with the manager to schedule machinery maintenance, repairs, and installation to minimize disruption to operations.
  • The ability to read schematics and blueprints is a plus.
  • Be on time every day.
  • Have good communication skills both oral and written.
  • Willingness to assist other welders/trades in support of company operations.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school and trade school training are acceptable.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Safety orientated and follow all safety rules.
  • Be able to work within industrial chemical environments.
  • Trained or trainable to operate aerial lifts, scissor lifts, condors, and Sky Tracks.
  • Able to pass a background check and drug screen (hair and urine).
  • Be an insurable driver and have a valid driver's license.
