Controller needed for premier Family Owned and Operated Construction company in Goodyear, AZ

• $100k-$130k salary
• Office located at Litchfield and Van Buren in Goodyear, AZ
• Monday - Friday 6:30am - 2:30pm
• Reports directly to President and VP of Operations
• Experience in Construction industry highly preferred
• Proficient in QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions

Job Duties

• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures
• Monitor and adhere to regulatory compliance, including taxes and reporting
• Oversee financial operations including, but not limited to, AP/AR, Job Costing, Budgets, and Cash Flow Management

• Create annual budget & hold team accountable to the budget.
• Prepare financial statements and all supporting schedules (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement, Work in Progress Statement, etc.)

• Monthly closing of books
• Review various contracts
• Prepare construction payment applications and other invoices as required by contracts
• Track costs and expenses for each construction project, and ensure that costs are within budget
• Train accounting staff
• Prepare all necessary reconciliations and support documentation for exterior auditors
• File monthly sales tax reports for various states when required
• Comply with all applicable regulations, including tax laws and securities laws

• Weekly updates as to company health, quarterly communication with leaders of goals and expectations, communicate with CPA effectively

Education/ExperienceRequirements:

• BS, BA, MBA in accounting
• Five to Ten years of construction accounting experience
• Strong understanding of construction industry accounting principles
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and work in fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Proficient in Quickbooks Enterprise Solutions accounting software
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
