How You Will Make an Impact As a Technical Support Engineer at Reading Truck you will provide on-demand support to understand and resolve product issues revealed before, during, or after manufacture. Getting issues clearly identified, contained, documented and resolved, - in a way that prevents future issues, is a measure of success. The Nuts and Bolts Provide Pre-Order Support - work with Sales, Customer Service and Quotations on Specifications, Weight and Center of Gravity Analysis and other documentation Provide In-Process Order Support - accommodating revised specifications, design, manufacturing, or mounting issues Provide Post-Delivery Support - resolving in-service issues with customers, RTE sites, and third party distributors related to quality, warranty, and repairs that may require on-site service Design and Release Prototype, Warranty or replacement parts as needed Participate in product re-design or new product development teams to identify opportunities for product or process improvement Provide support for Engineer to Order, Sustainable and New Product Development projects as necessary Submit Engineering Change Requests (ECR’s) and complete Engineering Change Orders (ECO’s) as necessary to resolve problems Required Credentials Minimum of three (3) years of related engineering experience Minimum three (3) years of experience in truck body, vocational vehicle, or up-fit is preferred Work related experience with designing and troubleshooting electrical systems May require experience with designing hydraulic and electrical systems Prior experience with Lean Manufacturing and 5S, etc., preferred How We Make an Impact At Reading Truck, we have more than 65 years of industry leadership in the manufacture, distribution, and enhancement of work truck bodies.
