How You Will Make an Impact The position provides on-demand support to understand and resolve product issues revealed before, during, or after the manufacturing of a Reading Truck product. The Technical Support Engineer has the responsibility and authority to use their education, experience, and professional discretion to immediately resolve issues. If resolving the issue requires additional RTG team members, they must identify and engage, as deemed necessary, and subsequently manage expectations of the party with the issue. The Nuts and BoltsPre-Order Support - work with Sales, Customer Service and Quotations on Specifications, Weight and Center of Gravity Analysis and other documentationIn-Process Order Support - accommodating revised specifications, design, manufacturing, or mounting issuesPost-Delivery Support - resolving in-service issues with customers, RTE sites, and third party distributors related to quality, warranty, and repairs that may require on-site serviceDesign and Release Prototype, Warranty or replacement parts as neededParticipate in product re-design or new product development teams to identify opportunities for product or process improvementProvide support for Engineer to Order, Sustainable and New Product Development projects as necessarySubmit Engineering Change Requests (ECR’s) and complete Engineering Change Orders (ECO’s) as necessary to resolve problemsProduct Specifications and Mounting Instructions - engage in the Creation and Revision as necessaryTechnical Bulletins - coordinate with Marketing and Product Management on the creation and distribution of Technical Bulletins as necessarySafety and Regulatory compliance - support creation and revision of standards for design, as necessaryMaintain access to and establish relationships with OEM truck manufacturers web-portals and personnel that support RTG’s and its customer’s businesses initiativesSupport training of team members when delegating tasks or responsibilities as necessary Required CredentialsBachelor Degree in Mechanical or Electrical EngineeringMinimum of three (3) years of related engineering experience Minimum three (3) years of experience in truck body, vocational vehicle, or up-fit is preferredWork related experience with designing and troubleshooting electrical systemsExperience with designing hydraulic and electrical systems is requiredPrior experience with Lean Manufacturing and 5S, etc., preferred How We Make an ImpactAt Reading Truck, we have more than 65 years of industry leadership in the manufacture, distribution, and enhancement of work truck bodies.
