Overview:

We are a small general practice law firm, practicing primarily in family law, probate, and guardianship litigation. We're seeking a reliable and organized receptionist to join our team.

As one of the first and most frequent points of contact for our firm, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent service and creating a positive impression. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and an ability to prioritize excellent client service in high pressure and emotionally challenging situations.

This is intended to be a hybrid position. While you are welcome to come into the office every day, you will not be required to - nearly all of the work we do can be completed remotely. However, you will occasionally be needed in-office (typically no more than 1-3 hours at a time, 1-2x per week, scheduled around your preferences/availability) for on-site training, client meetings, preparation of trial binders, etc.

Duties:

• Answer and direct calls in a friendly and professional manner, taking messages and returning calls when necessary
• Screen new client inquiries, send intake paperwork, and schedule initial consultations
• Contact existing clients to request documents, information, and schedule appointments as requested
• Handle inquiries from clients, court staff, and other contacts with professionalism
• May also be asked to assist with administrative tasks such as filing, typing, and data entry, depending on skill, experience, and availability

Requirements:

• Excellent phone etiquette and strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with attention to detail
• Professionalism and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information
• Empathy, compassion, and patience in addressing clients and potential clients who may be dealing with emotionally challenging situations
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
• Team player attitude
• Previous experience as a receptionist or in an administrative role preferred
• Familiarity with VOIP and CRM software is a plus

Pay: $14.00 - $17.37 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
