JANSON is Hiring a Communications Specialist/Content Manager Near Fort Belvoir, VA

JANSON has an immediate need for a Communications Specialist/Content Manager in the Northern Virginia area. This is a full-time position with an expectation to work onsite 5 days a week.

This position requires a professional who can work successfully in a fast-paced customer environment and is skilled in all aspects of web development/maintenance and social media. This position will create, collaborate, and manage communications outreach and promotional content among multiple stakeholders/contributors and in alignment with communications goals for internal and external target audiences across a wide variety of digital/print communications and marketing channels. The ideal candidate will excel in a team environment yet bring forward a decisive personality to successfully engage with peers and senior government officials.

JOB DUTIES:

· Create, review, and update strategic communications products such as brochures, information sheets, etc.

· Assist social media specialist in researching, writing, and executing social media content (text, images, video) to ensure proper coverage and placement of identified topics in concert with short-term and/or long-term strategies.

· Ensure all communications products meet the customers’ required brand guidelines.

· Ability to develop content for the website and conduct updates.

· Ability to analyze website metrics and provide weekly website analytics report.

· Track and maintain communication assets such as images/photos, graphics, clipart, and other visual information products.

Key responsibilities of this position include:

· Content Strategy: Develop and implement a content strategy that supports marketing and business objectives, including audience segmentation, content calendar, and distribution plans.

· Content Creation: Create high-quality, original content in various formats, including blog posts, articles, infographics, videos, and social media updates.

· Content Editing: Review and edit content for clarity, accuracy, grammar, and style, ensuring all content adheres to brand guidelines.

· Content Distribution: Develop and execute a content distribution plan to maximize reach and engagement across various channels, including social media, email, and partnerships.

· Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, design, and government to ensure content aligns with overall brand messaging and goals.

· Content Promotion: Plan and execute promotional campaigns to boost the visibility of key content pieces.

· Content Calendar: Maintain an organized content calendar to ensure consistent and timely content delivery.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

· A minimum of four (4) years demonstrated professional communications/ marketing/public relations experience, with at least three (3) years’ experience within public affairs/communications/marketing/public relations within the past five (5) years.

· Experience working with platforms such as Monday.com or Slack preferred but not required.

· A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a communications-related discipline. A degree in History is a plus!

· Active secret clearance.

· Work experience for an organization with a national profile in a Top 10 media market and/or national following preferred.

· Must be familiar with Army regulations and public affairs guidelines (AR 360-1) and AP Style.

· OPSEC experience and training preferred but not required.

· Professional communications/marketing/public relations certifications preferred.

· A working understanding of the military, military public affairs, U.S. Army preferred.

· Ability to multi-task, time management and organizational skills.

· Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

· Creative thinker with a passion for staying up to date with industry trends and best practices.

· Work or volunteer experience with an art, culture, museum, and/or visitor-focused mission preferred.
