James Moore Advisory is seeking a Data Analyst to develop, deploy, and maintain BI interfaces on behalf of both the Firm and the various clients and industries that we serve. These include query tools, data visualization, interactive dashboards, ad hoc reporting, and data modeling tools.

What you will do in this role:

  • Data Collection and Analysis: Gather, sanitize, and scrutinize extensive and intricate datasets utilizing tools such as SQL, Python, R, and Excel. Your role will be pivotal in extracting meaningful insights from raw data.
  • Insight Generation: Detect patterns, trends, and anomalies within the data, transforming these into actionable intelligence for decision-making.
  • Data Visualization: Create and upkeep interactive dashboards and reports using visualization tools to present critical metrics and insights in an understandable format.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work alongside various teams to comprehend their objectives and convert these into specific data inquiries and analysis projects.
  • Data Modeling: Construct and refine data models and structures to underpin robust data analysis and reporting capabilities.
  • Communication of Findings: Effectively articulate analytical insights and recommendations to stakeholders, ensuring they are accessible and actionable.
  • Model Management and Evaluation: Regularly assess and enhance the performance of your models, ensuring they stay relevant and accurate.
  • Continuous Learning and Sharing: Stay abreast of emerging trends in data science, machine learning, and analytics. Actively share knowledge and best practices with your team.

What you'll bring to the table:

  • Commitment to Learning: A relentless drive to stay informed about cutting-edge tools and methodologies in the field of data science.
  • Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline like Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or Computer Science.
  • Professional Experience: 2-5 years of hands-on experience in data science, data analysis, or a similar area.
  • Analytical Proficiency: Strong skills in problem-solving and analysis.
  • Technical Skills: Expertise in SQL, Python, R, and Excel.
  • Data Visualization Expertise: Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Machine Learning Knowledge: Experience with machine learning libraries like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
