James L. West offers specialized, compassionate, and life-enhancing care at every stage of Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or memory loss. The not-for profit James L. West participates in Alzheimer's research and training, and it offers a day program, community education and outreach, and mentoring and training to the medical and healthcare communities.

The Assistant will be responsible for:

• Assisting the Director with in-services for dining staff
• Assisting with special events and activities to ensure appropriate service
• Provide snacks or meals for attendees of meetings or outside agencies
• Post weekly menus on all units
• Assist with food purchase orders
• Attend care plan meetings in the absence of the Director
• Assist with monthly employee work schedule
• Supervise production and serving of food by dietary staff and dining room attendants
• Monitors service of food to ensure physicians diet orders are followed
• Assist with maintaining the monthly budget
• Supervises sanitation of all kitchens
• Prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations as well as our established policies and procedures
• Assist/direct daily scheduled cleaning duties in accordance with established policies and procedures

The position requires a Food Handlers card. Prefer training as a Certified Dietary Manager or Chef. Prefer ServSafe Certification or Culinary School Graduation. Must also be able to lift 50 pounds minimum and walk/stand for entire shift.

Must be able to pass criminal background check, license verification, employee misconduct registry, exclusion lists check, Tb test, drug screen, etc.
