Looking to join a dynamic team? The Barry Robinson Center is expanding their Outpatient Program for Adolescents and Young Adults. As a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor you would provide assessment, case management, individual, group and family therapies and education to patients and/or families. 

Responsibilities include preparing and conducting group sessions, updating treatment plans and implementing goals and objectives for patient's treatments. Ability to coordinate care with schools, probation and/or parole officers, as well as other providers and parents as needed or requested. This role would also involve building community relationships and networking opportunities within the mental and behavioral health field. CSAC position is for direct care operating from our office space in Norfolk, Virginia. 

This is a part-time opportunity. Part-time would be between 15-20 hours per week. 

We conduct groups Monday through Thursday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm

CSAC-Supervisee's are welcome to apply, we can cover supervision hours! 

Qualifications:

• Must be a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) through the Virginia Department of Health Professions and in good standing, or be a registered CSAC-Supervisee
• A passion for work with young adults who are struggling with both mental illness and substance use disorders (co-occurring disorders)
• Have a strong knowledge with SAMHSA/ ASAM criteria 
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to include late afternoon and evenings as needed to accommodate IOP program launch events
• Bilingual communication preferred 
• Must be able to provide direct-care/on site duties (our offices are located in Norfolk, VA)
