Accountant - Customer Service

This role is responsible for the accounting for all existing and new Customer Service plan programs/initiatives proposed by the business. Account for, examine and analyze the financial transactions related to JLR US and JLR Canada Customer Service Programs under International Accounting Standards (IAS). Responsible for reconciliation and adequacy analysis of Customer Service plan programs. Monitor and analyze historical and projected future take rates, local warranty claims paid, forecast and budget, new model year pricing papers, etc. Liaison with other departments within JLR NA as well as JLR UK for the Customer Service programs to ensure appropriate accounting treatment.

What you will be doing:
- Accounting for the following Customer Service programs:
- Complimentary Scheduled Maintenance
- Prepaid Scheduled Maintenance
- Waymo Scheduled Maintenance
- New and CPO Roadside Assistance
- Parts & Accessories Bonus program
- Analysis of Scheduled Maintenance claim take rates based on historical patterns over several models and model years to determine whether an onerous contract exists
- Analysis of new Customer Service program offerings to assist manager in determining the appropriate accounting treatment
- Constructing deferral models for new model years to calculate the cost basis of the deferred revenue programs
- Analysis of Roadside Assistance programs
- Monitoring system generated accruals/deferrals per vehicle, monthly release of revenue for deferred programs
- Maintaining Microsoft Access Database as a forecasting and accounting tool for Scheduled Maintenance customer service programs
- Preparing financial forecasts and budgets for Customer Service programs and communicate to Finance
- Audit support - external auditors, internal auditors, business assurance team, etc.
- Performing other duites as required.
- Education - Bachelors degree in Accounting or other business discipline
- 3 years of experience in Automotive OEM or Accounting Department
- CPA or in progress
- Knowledge and application of International Financial Reporting Standards
- Strong communication and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Advanced Excel Skills
- SAP experience a plus
- Microsoft Access Database
