As a Water Operator Intern, you’ll join a collaborative team ensuring that our clients can deliver their services – uninterrupted.
Based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, you’ll have the opportunity to learn a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of a drinking water treatment and distribution system including maintenance of equipment and quality control testing. You’ll be able to help contribute to the success of our program with efficient preventive maintenance and effective solutions to challenges that may arise in municipal facilities. You’ll learn how to operate treatment facilities to control flow and processing of water, observe variations in operating conditions, and interpret meter and gauge readings. You’ll also gain experience in collecting samples, maintainaing shift logs and performing other duties as required. Most importantly, you’ll take action to ensure the safety, health and well-being of you and your team.
The position is a summer internship up to 16 weeks beginning in May.Work hours are generally 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 8 AM – 5 PM.

This position may include work that would require repetitive lifting of equipment and instruments weighing 10 to 20 pounds.The work area can involve a working environment indoors as well as outdoors, which could cause exposure to outdoor elements; proper employee-furnished environmental/weather attire will be required.The use of appropriate company-provided safety equipment will be required in certain situations.Background screening and drug testing will be required. Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license and must be capable of personally driving a company vehicle in the performance of the duties contained herein.
