Job Summary The Employee Relations Manager supervises initiatives from conception to execution. They offer subject matter expertise to the Human Resources Partner team, delivering advice, guidance, and support across various functional areas within the Employee Relations team. Serving as a strategic partner, they identify areas for improvement and offer recommendations accordingly. Additionally, the Employee Relations Manager leads a support team responsible for overseeing Employee Relations functions. Job Description Essential Functions: Provide inspiring leadership and mentorship, fostering professional growth for all employee relations staff activities. Champion diversity and inclusion initiatives, driving a culture of belonging and respect. Conduct regular performance evaluations, offering constructive feedback to enhance team productivity and effectiveness. Ensure consistent adherence to established timelines for employee relations investigations. Guide the team through sensitive matters like discrimination and harassment, ensuring strict adherence to best practices and policies. Demonstrate exceptional expertise in handling employee relations matters with fairness, tact, and impartiality. Lead sensitive investigations with expert guidance and support, resolving grievances and conflicts to foster a positive work environment. Partner with cross-functional teams to develop and implement diversity-focused programs and initiatives. Contribute to a positive and inclusive organizational culture that values all employees. Leave & Unemployment Administration & Compliance: Oversee leave administration processes, ensuring compliance with regulations. Serve as a resource for managers and employees on leave-related matters. Enhance efficiency and accuracy by streamlining leave management procedures. Oversee the unemployment claims process, including documentation, responses, and hearings attendance. Data-Driven Insights: Generate comprehensive reports on employee relations metrics, trends, and outcomes. Present findings to senior management, providing actionable insights to drive organizational decision-making. Training & Knowledge Management: Coordinate the development and delivery of employee relations training resources. Facilitate training sessions for employees and managers, ensuring understanding and application of concepts. Ensure the Employee Relations website is current, engaging, and accessible. Case Management & System Administration: Administer case management system and permission set-ups to ensure accurate access and permissions and data integrity. Provide oversight and guidance and manage the grievances and appeals process, ensuring procedural fairness, accurate documentation, and adherence to City of Dallas Personnel Rules. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or Social Science related field. EXPERIENCE Four (4) years of general human resources related experience including at least one (1) year of employee relations and investigation experience AND One (1) year lead work/supervisory responsibilities. EQUIVALENCIES High school diploma/GED plus eight (8) years of the required experience including one (1) year of employee relations and investigation experience and one (1) year of lead work/supervisory responsibilities will qualify. Associate degree in any field plus six (6) years of the required experience including one (1) year of employee relations and investigation experience and one (1) year of lead work/supervisory responsibilities will qualify. Bachelor's degree or higher in a non-related field plus six (6) years of the required experience including one (1) year of employee relations and investigation experience and one (1) year of lead work/supervisory responsibilities will qualify. OTHER REQUIREMENTS Knowledge of employment laws, and best practices. Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. PREFERENCES Experience with HRIS systems. Certification in HR (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus. Master's degree a plus. CLOSING DATE: JUNE 17, 2024 Salary Range $66,743.57 - $83,429.47 The salary listed on this job posting is the starting salary range; amount offered will depend upon qualifications.
