We are looking for a MDS Coordinator RN for this skilled nursing home that serves both active sub-acute and LTC population. This position would be the department manager and would supervise and oversee management of the department and other MDS staff members.

Responsibilities of a MDS Coordinator RN:

• Responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process in a long-term care and Short-Term Rehabilitation / Skilled Nursing Center
• Ensuring the center stays in compliance with current professional practice standards, physician’s orders, company policies and procedures, and local, state, and federal regulations, as well as providing oversight of the center’s MDS Coordinator.
• Conducts education on the RAI process for employees involved in the MDS process.
• The coordinator will also be responsible for the overall PDPM process and meetings as well as completing assessments, CAA’s, care plans and assisting to ensure correct coding for the QMs as well as ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and transmission of the department MDS’s.

Qualifications for a MDS Coordinator RN:

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN) or above required.
• RN licensure in the state of Florida (or NLC) required.
• Requires experience in clinical reimbursement as it relates to MDS completion, accuracy and transmission.
• Knowledge of the MDS, RAI process and an understanding of Medicare regulations with regards to PDPM and OBRA
• Responsible for the overall PDPM process and meetings as well as completing assessments, CAA’s, care plans and assisting to ensure correct coding for the QMs as well as ensuring timeliness, accuracy and transmission of the department MDS’s.
