Job Description – Principal

The Assistant Principal position is a salaried, exempt position with a 12-month work schedule. Salary will be set annually. This position will report to the Executive Director.

Overall Responsibilities

The Assistant Principal is responsible for all aspects of the school’s academic performance. The Principal sets standards for student achievement aligned to the mission of the school and classical education. The Assistant Principal will hire and manage faculty at the school to ensure classical education is implemented effectively and observe teachers at defined intervals, document results, and provide feedback as coach and supervisor.

Leadership

• Maintain a high personal standard consistent with the school’s Core Virtues, vision, mission and motto.
• Support the vision, policies, financial objectives and directives of the governing board.
• Support a positive school culture based on mutual respect and shared expectations.
• Regularly meet with the board chairman, Head of School, and Operations Manager to coordinate school activities and discuss outcomes and issues to ensure the long-term school success.
• Be willing to assist others as needed.

Qualifications

• The minimum educational requirement for this job is a Master’s degree.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other industry-specific technology.
• The ability to communicate effectively and problem solve in a fast-paced environment is critical to the success in this position.
