Jackson Public Schools is Hiring an INTERVENTIONIST SPECIALIST, HIGH SCHOOL OFFICE Near Jackson, MS

Qualifications

  • Possess a valid certification or license in education, educational psychology, psychology, social work, or counseling
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Training and a minimum of 3 years experience in behavior management and in designing positive behavioral interventions, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Ability to use technology effectively
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills in scheduling support for teachers and administrators, tracking progress toward goals, and facilitating meetings and/or professional development with teachers and parents.
  • Knowledge of state-adopted academic content standards and frameworks
  • Commitment to continuous professional learning
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementation of all components of the district’s initiatives
  • Effective interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to maintain effective working relationships

Reports To

Assistant Superintendent

Essential Functions

  • Provides professional development for JPS Tools for Life staff, teachers, parents, and staff focused on implementing Tools for Life solutions
  • Conducts weekly implementation reviews with the Tools for Life staff to determine the effectiveness of implementation and develop additional support for JPS Tools for Life staff and teachers
  • Maintains and provides implementation and coaching reports weekly; attends designated meetings and training sessions
  • Maintains sufficient documentation of all activities
  • Maintains schedule and accountability of service provision
  • Assumes responsibility for managing and inventorying JPS Tools for Life materials and resources
  • Insures school-wide Tools for Life implementation data collection systems are established and managed
  • Compiles data from schools for reports and analysis as needed
  • Prepares reports and communications for a variety of audiences focused on increasing implementation of Tools for Life solutions
  • Participates as a lead partner on the district’s Tools for Life team focused on implementing Tools for Life solutions in assigned schools for all students in grades 1-8
  • Supports the school administration in implementing Tools for Life solutions
  • Leads collaboration with Tools for Life staff and grant partners to ensure implementation goals are achieved
  • Assists the district in sustaining Tools for Life solutions
  • Performs other related duties as requested or assigned
