JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Assistant Facilities Engineer

Classification: FT/Year Round

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

GENERAL PURPOSE

• Assist in the smooth operation of all base and mountain facilities and related systems. 
• Assist with the preventative maintenance of all base and mountain facilities and systems.
• Assist with repairs of all base and mountain facilities and systems.
• Mountain Facilities includes all on-mountain facilities and all base area facilities owned or leased and maintained by JHMR.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Maintain all facilities and systems as developed within company organization.
• Areas of maintenance include HVAC, snowmelt systems, plumbing, electrical and some exterior and interior maintenance to be defined on a per project basis as needed.
• Help develop and utilizes proper maintenance procedures in written form.
• Follow work order system for requests for preventative maintenance and repair.
• We will be transitioning to ManagerPlus to better track repairs and maintenance.
• Regular checks of boiler rooms, generators and related systems.
• Ability to recognize what is needed and find a solution or repair.
• Maintains and updates MSDS sheets as needed.

OTHER FUNCTIONS

• Assists Buildings & Areas Department as needed.
• Assists Special Events and Dining departments as needed.
• Supports other departments for large company programs when available.
• Oversees and/or assists contractors who may be doing work on Mountain Facilities.
• Other job functions may be included as needed.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY:

• General building maintenance procedures.
• Building equipment maintenance procedures.
• Some supervisory skills and experience.
• Ability to work unsupervised.

EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING:

• Job training in related fields.
• Management training and/or college degree.

EXPERIENCE:

• Applicable work experience will be given high consideration.
• 5 years’ experience in Plumbing, HVAC or Electrical systems valuable.

MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:

• Knowledge of full range of power and hand tools and procedures
• Computers, 2-way radios, cellphone
• Snowmobiles/ATVs, side by sides,/4-wheel drive trucks

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

• Indoors/outdoors - all seasons and in extreme weather conditions.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Expert skiing/snowboarding abilities.
