JCDC is a nonprofit agency serving people in communities across West Virginia and we are hiring full-time and part-time Vocational Support Specialists in our Parkersburg and Millwood offices! JCDC provides extra training and support to people with disabilities in community employment situations in order to ensure they learn their jobs effectively and continue to support them as they maintain their employment. This work will primarily be in Mason, Jackson, and Roane as well as Wood, Wirt, Ritchie, Doddridge, and Pleasants counties.
This position works mainly in the community at the participant’s place of employment. The Vocational Support Specialists will also spend time each week in the office for reporting/documentation. Vocational Support Specialists work under the direction of WV DRS Councilors in assessing training needs, setting plans, and working with the participants to have successful outcomes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Must be open to working a varied schedule depending on the needs of the individuals you are serving; this can include afternoons and early evenings. Benefits for the employee: medical, dental, vision, and life. Also generous PTO and vacation.
Must be able to use critical thinking and problem solving, be an advocate for the participant when needed, work with a diverse group of people, and understand/learn reporting accuracy and timeliness.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
