Job Description:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-oriented Automotive Service Advisor to join our team. As an Automotive Service Advisor, you will be the face of the business as the primary point of contact for our customers, providing them with exceptional service and guidance throughout their vehicle maintenance and repair processes.
Responsibilities:
1. Customer Service Excellence: Serve as the first point of contact for customers visiting the service department. Greet customers warmly, assess their needs and provide timely assistance.
2. Vehicle Assessment: Communicate effectively with customers to understand their vehicle issues and concerns. Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to accurately diagnose problems and recommend appropriate services.
3. Service Recommendations: Utilize technical knowledge and expertise to recommend maintenance and repair services based on vehicle diagnostics and customer preferences. Explain service options, benefits, and costs clearly to customers.
4. Service Scheduling: Coordinate service appointments efficiently, considering the availability of technicians and the urgency of customer needs. Manage service schedules to ensure timely completion of work and customer satisfaction.
5. Parts Ordering and Inventory Management: Collaborate with the parts department to order necessary parts and ensure their timely availability for vehicle repairs. Maintain accurate records of parts inventory and usage.
6. Service Follow-Up: Keep customers informed about the status of their vehicle repairs throughout the service process. Follow up with customers after service completion to ensure their satisfaction and address any concerns.
7. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, service appointments, vehicle inspections, and repair orders. Ensure accuracy and completeness of all documentation.
8. Compliance and Quality Assurance: Adhere to company policies, procedures, and industry regulations to ensure compliance and uphold high-quality service standards. Participate in ongoing training and development to stay updated on automotive technologies and best practices.
Requirements:
1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in automotive technology is preferred.
2. Proven experience in automotive service advising or a related customer service role.
3. Strong knowledge of automotive systems, maintenance procedures, and repair techniques.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach and professional appearance.
5. Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment, while keeping a clean workspace.
6. Proficiency in computer software applications for scheduling, invoicing, and record-keeping.
7. Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and service recommendations.
8. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
